Housework is the most tiring job that everyone has to do in his life. And doing laundry is not a simple job either. However, with a little discovery you can enjoy it a little more. We will see how we can benefit from using salt for laundry.
Colors- setting the color in new clothes/ towels etc
Boil the yellow items for one hour in a salt and baking soda solution.

Drying clothes in cold conditions
If you add a little salt to your rinse cycle, your clothes won’t freeze if hung outside on a cold day. In addition, a clothes line soaked in salt water doesn’t freeze either.

Hankies
Soak stained hankies in a solution of salt water before washing.

Iron- Cleaning the soleplate
No matter how careful you are when you are ironing, you can guarantee at some point you will melt something and it will form a rough sticky residue on the plate that is really difficult to remove. Salt is the answer.
Switch your iron onto high and place a newspaper on your ironing board, sprinkle table salt on to the newspaper and run the hot iron over the salt. It should remove all the burnt residue.

Odor removal- Trainers
Trainers and other canvas shoes can get pretty smelly, especially if you wear them without socks. Get rid of the smell and soak up the moisture by occasionally sprinkling a little salt in your shoes. This is one of the Himalayan salt benefits for laundry that I love most.

Stain removal- Blood stains
Soak the stained clothing or other cloth item in cold saltwater, then wash in warm, soapy water and boil after the wash. Use only on cotton, linen or other natural fabric that can take high heat.

Stain removal-Grease
If grease is spilt on your clothes and cannot be washed straight away, sprinkle salt over the stain to absorb the grease. When you get home, rub the area with neat detergent and wash as normal.
You can also mix one part salt to four parts alcohol and rub on the stain, then wash as normal.

Stain removal- Perspiration
To remove the stubborn yellow perspiration stains on shirts, dissolve 4 tablespoons of salt in 1 liter of hot water. Then sponge the area with the mixture until the stain disappears.

Stain removal- Red and white wine
To remove wine stains from your washables stretch the fabric over a bowl, over the stain with salt, and carefully pour boiling water over it.

Washing machine suds
If a washing machine bubbles over from too many suds, sprinkle salt on the suds to eliminate the excess.
